Writing for Digital Media

Listicles are used way more often than you may think and are actually a good way of displaying information. A listicle mainly consists of a title that is brief, but tells what the whole text is going to be about, in general. Then there are usually sub-titles with a picture, gif, video, etc, below it and the remaining main text below that. Listicles may be used in places that you have never noticed liked social media, magazines, newspapers, etc. They are commonly used for a couple main reasons. First, they are an easy and quick read which makes them useful for fast paced work like we mostly have now in the world. Another reason they are commonly used is because of the headlines used in them as they are usually creative and catch the attention of the reader to get them immediately interested in what the listicle is going to talk about.

Hello, my name is Darren Brautigam and I am a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown pursuing the Multimedia and Digital Culture major. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and am the youngest in my family with an older sister and older brother. I have always been intrigued in the magic of photoshop and unique photo editing, so I figured this major would fit pretty well for my interests. The main purpose of this blog and future ones is to discuss and give my opinions on certain readings done throughout the course.
